If your business is doing something great, why not shout about it?

As a nation we still seem overly reluctant to embrace recognition for our achievements and here at NKD Clothing we’ve experienced said phenomena first hand. After being nominated by a supplier (Happy Smile Promotional Products) and following a gentle nudge from the team at NKD, Gill entered and won the Junior Chamber International Creative Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award in July 2009. Since then Gill has been approached to speak at high profile events such as the annual Everywoman Conference and Thrive for Business.

NKD’s award success has attracted fantastic media exposure, offered us an opportunity to extend our network (Gill rubbed shoulders with industry greats such as Jeff Banks at the 2010 Business Manager Awards) as well as simply demonstrating to clients just how good our business is! Website hits have increased month on month and the team are working hard to meet the demand of both new sales enquiries and servicing our existing client base. More importantly, pausing to acknowledge NKD’s successes has given the team an opportunity to reflect on their role within the business and the significant contribution they’ve made. The end result has been a dramatic boost to staff morale.

The entry form may seem like another laborious task you simply don’t have time for and yet we found that the process gave us a valuable insight into our practices and even uncovered new ways we can further excel the business.

Entering an award gives you the ideal platform to stand out from you competitors and given the current economic climate there has never been a more crucial time to separate yourself from the crowd and demonstrate your company’s drive and innovation.

So do you still have an excuse for not showing pride in your achievements???
NKD Clothing has been shortlisted for the 2010 European Business Awards...so watch this space.

Good luck with the European Business Awards, I look forward to reading about it here in your blog.
